GRI, an industry leader in standard and custom keyboards and keypads for over 20 years, has applied its extensive experience in building the most rugged and reliable keyboards available to the 8000 series. These versatile keyboards feature an expanded typewriter style keyboard with full ASCII coding. (Custom key codes are also available.) They are economically priced and are available "off-the-shelf." | |
| Other features include low-profile ergonomic design,
extensive self-test and diagnostic capability and non-glare sculptured double-shot keycaps
for exceptionally long life. The keycap colors are brown and beige, with contrasting
lettering. The 53-key model 8053 is a standard typewriter style arrangement; the model 8066 adds a 13-key numeric keypad at the right; the 76-key model 8076 adds the 10 cursor-pad-and-control keys at the left of the 8066; and the model 8095 adds 19 special function keys at the top of the model 8076. Other key layouts and configurations are available as an option consult your sales representative or the factory. Keyswitches, the heart of any keyboard, are GRIs KBM-LP: these switches have gold-plated mechanical contacts and feature a life expectancy of over 3 million keystrokes. Interface options include parallel, serial TTL, and serial RS-232. A low profile enclosure is available. The serial interface uses a standard 4-pin modular telephone-style connector, so that off-the-shelf cables may be used. The 8000 series keyboards have been designed to comply with FCC Article 15, Class A and B requirements. |
